Nursing Panel Draws Strong Turnout and Inspires Future Healthcare Professionals

On May 7, the Student Nurses Association hosted a highly successful Nursing Panel event, drawing more than 40 attendees, one of the largest turnouts for an event of its kind. The panel brought together a diverse group of nursing professionals to share insights into their careers, educational journeys, and the realities of working in healthcare.

The event featured nurses representing a wide range of specialties, including palliative care, hospice, operating room nursing, oncology, psychiatry, emergency medicine, and intensive care. Their varied experiences offered attendees a comprehensive look at the many pathways available within the nursing profession.

Panelists spoke candidly about their day-to-day responsibilities, challenges, and rewards, providing students with a deeper understanding of what it means to be a nurse. Many of the speakers have pursued, or are currently pursuing, advanced degrees, including Master’s programs as Family Nurse Practitioners and doctoral degrees in nurse anesthesia (CRNA), highlighting the strong opportunities for growth and advancement in the field.

Adding a global perspective, one panelist shared experiences participating in medical mission trips, offering care to underserved populations around the world and emphasizing the far-reaching impact of the nursing profession.

The Student Nurses Association extends its gratitude to all who attended this amazing event and would like to invite anyone interested to attend future events!
