Passing of MCC Student George Gaffney

We regret to inform you that we have been recently notified of the passing of MCC student George Gaffney. George was a student in our Biology program at the Brighton Campus and passed away on February 19, 2026. We are saddened by the loss of a member of our college community.

Our hearts go out to George’s family, friends, classmates, and instructors during this difficult time.

MCC's Counseling staff are available to assist students who may have known George. Please contact Counseling Services (counselingservices@monroecc.edu) via email or at (585) 292-2140 to schedule an appointment to talk with a counselor or for more information.

Counseling support is also available for employees through EmployeeConnect, MCC's employee assistance program, provided by our Human Resources Department.
