TCC: Kudos Gratitude Series (Day 3): Colleagues to Colleagues, Making a Difference Everyday
Happy Wednesday! Today, I would like to share kudos from colleagues to colleagues, recognizing and celebrating those who have demonstrated remarkable leadership, mentorship, and professional support.
Bethany Gizzi (AHPSS, FA President)
Bethany Gizzi has served with unmatched distinction, passion, and integrity as the president of our Faculty Association for fifteen extraordinary years. She has been a tireless champion for the employees here at MCC, working to secure ever-better working conditions, understanding deeply that the environment in which faculty and staff work directly shapes the environment in which our students learn and grow. Bethany has navigated complex institutional challenges, remaining a steady, reliable anchor for our community, and she has demonstrated fierce persistence and tenacity in the face of adversity, never shrinking from hard conversations, standing firm in her principles, and continuously pushing toward progress when others thought the path was uncertain. Importantly, Bethany has been a staunch defender of equity, weaving the principles of fairness, inclusion, and systemic justice into the very fabric of her advocacy, ensuring that every member is valued. Her leadership has been guided by profound wisdom—the ability to look at the larger picture, anticipate the needs of the future, and offer grounded, strategic counsel—and a deep, genuine compassion for the lived experiences, well-being, and dignity of her colleagues. We owe Bethany a debt of gratitude for her devoted, life-changing service.
