Ramadan Continues Through March - Resources and Information for our MCC Community
Please share with students:Welcome Back!
Ramadan 2026 began during February break (2/18) and will continue until March 19 or 20.
- Ramadan is the Muslim month of fasting.
- Practicing Muslim students will be fasting from dawn until dusk (approximately 5AM until 7PM)
- Fasting = No Food and No Water during fasting hours
During Ramadan, those who observe will often pray late into the night. It is not unusual to be up past midnight for prayers and then get up around 4AM to eat and pray at dawn. Muslim students in your classes may be tired, hungry, and dehydrated - especially if they are with you late in the afternoon. Please be mindful of this if fasting students are in your classes.
For evening faculty, giving students a short rest to break their fast would be helpful.
Read this Ramadan Etiquette Guide to learn more.
