MCC Students Named Distinquished Delegation at the 2026 National Model United Nations Conference

15 MCC students recently attended the 99th annual National Model United Nations Conference in New York City. This is the oldest and most well-attended university-level U.N. simulation in the United States, originally starting as a League of Nations simulation in 1927. MCC students worked alongside more than 1,500 students from over 100 colleges and universities. This year's MCC delegation, led by head delegate Shawn Sanchez, was recognized with a Distinguished Delegation award at the Conference's conclusion.

MCC students represented Hungary on seven simulated U.N. committees. Students spent the semester tirelessly researching the U.N., Hungary's positions at the U.N. relative to their committee assignments and topics, writing position papers, preparing speeches, and engaging in extensive negotiations with other delegations at the Conference. MCC students delivered over 20 speeches and contributed to over 600 pages of written material at the Conference, ranging from working papers to adopted resolutions addressing pressing global issues.

MCC's Model United Nations program is a transformative, skill-building experience that remains one of our College's strongest academic opportunities for students. If you know or have any of the following students in class, please take a moment to congratulate them for their exceptional work at the 2026 National Model United Nations Conference in New York City.
