ICYMI: MCC Part of Regional Team to Receive NSF Regional Innovation Engines Award

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) announced NSF STELLAR Engine in the Rochester/Finger Lakes Region as one of twelve recipients of its Regional Innovations Engine Awards. STELLAR stands for Science, Technology, and Engineering for Laser and Laser Applications Research. The University of Rochester is the leader of the project, with MCC as a partner, along with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), NextCorps, AmeriCOM, and New York State.

This incredible achievement is the latest in a series of workforce development successes related to the MCC’s Optics Program, which will be part of the new Sydor Optics Advanced Technology Center opening this fall.
