Custodial Operations Team Honors Longtime Colleague with Donation to the American Cancer Society

The Monroe Community College Custodial Operations Department recently came together to honor the memory of longtime colleague John Haines by raising $890 for the American Cancer Society.

John dedicated more than 30 years of service to Monroe Community College, where he was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and commitment to the campus community. Members of the Custodial Operations team wanted to recognize his legacy in a meaningful way and created a walk on campus to support the American Cancer Society.

Through the generosity of custodial staff and supporters, the department raised $890, which has been donated to the American Cancer Society in John's memory. The contribution will help support the organization's efforts in cancer research, patient services, education, and advocacy.

The Custodial Operations Department extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to this effort. The generosity shown by employees reflects the compassion and sense of community that define Monroe Community College.

John's legacy will continue to be remembered not only through his years of dedicated service, but also through the lives that may be impacted by this donation in his honor.

Thank you,

Courtney Sprague
