From Students To Faculty

Renee Coleman, Psychology

Professor Coleman, for the last year, has provided me with lots of guidance on navigating my career path. She has great energy in class, and she's been very helpful in providing me with tools and feedback on assignments and for my project. Her hard work is very appreciated, and she is someone I look up to when it comes to my future career.

Andy Knapp, Psychology

My colleague demonstrates remarkable dedication, always staying organized, supporting others, and taking initiative to solve problems.

Kevin Waghorn, Psychology

His teaching style greatly exceeded my expectations. He consistently delivers engaging lectures, while having concise material to go along with it. While the concepts may be complex at times, he has the ability to explain them in a way that is very comprehensible, even for those of us who have never taken a psychology class before.

Jolynn Jones, Psychology

Dr. Jones makes the class enjoyable and puts in extra effort to ensure we understand the material in a meaningful and straightforward way. She is always available for questions and encourages group discussions in every single lecture. I can see how much she enjoys teaching.

PJ Ciaccia, Psychology

He has been extremely helpful in providing me with all of the resources needed to be successful in this class. He has been very flexible with me this semester and has provided me with helpful feedback. I can see that the importance of my success is mutual. He is incredibly hilarious, and his PowerPoints, funny test questions, and lectures have made the course fun for me to learn, and tests a little less stressful to take. His hard work is not unnoticed.

Gordon Dutter  AHPSS

His teaching style is immaculate.  You can tell he not only knows the material but is passionate what he's teaching.  His use of actual sources and refusal of text books inhibits research capabilities and a better understanding of the subject.  He is also incredibly understanding and works to support the students in his class.  His lessons have been the most interesting and rewarding lessons I have ever attended.

Naomi Schlagman, AHPSS

Naomi is great at her job in her department. Very personable and true to being for the people and her students. Passionate about the human race.

Mark Sample, AHPSS

Mark, I just want to take a moment to thank you for everything you’ve done for MCC, for SGA, and for our Leadership Office. You are always smiling, always supportive, and always ready with ideas that help students grow. You’ve cared about us like family and have constantly advocated for our success. I appreciate your honesty, your guidance, and even your corny/dad jokes. Because they always come from a genuine place. You make MCC a better place every single day, and WE ARE truly grateful for everything you do.

Val Senatore, APHSS

Dr. Senatore has helped me improve my writing and research capabilities, and has been open to un-biased discussion and educating of topics that I am interested in. She believes in the individual success of each student and works hard to ensure each student succeeds, while maintaining strict MCC guidelines. This class has helped me stay on task and be motivated to research. My procrastination has gotten better, and I am able to focus in this class because of how engaging it is.

Ralph Toscano, Business Administration

Ralph was a very great teacher who helped me learn all the accounting skills I’ve learned this semester. He also makes class a fun and enjoyable experience for all.

Chef Jason Carlson, Hospitality

He helped me understand the uniqueness and tranquility of cooking and trial and error.

Karen Dickerson, VAPA

Made the class fun and interactive. Have learned to communicate with my peers better in a few short weeks. Taught in a way that was understandable and applicable.

Rolland Fisher, VAPA

Dr. Fisher has shown tremendous excellence and meekness the entire time I’ve been at MCC. He has demonstrated remarkable expertise and a compassionate spirit when developing skills in his students. Despite his busy schedule he has gone out of his way time and time again to help in any way he can when it came to personal issues, academic support, fundraising, contributing to extracurricular activities and organizing events to enrich the college experience of everyone. He is not only amazing professionally but also empathetic and is an overall inspiration to all who has met him.

Dr. Fisher has made my first semester of chorus very enjoyable. He is very animated, fun, and creates an inclusive space for all of us. He works very hard to provide us with the opportunity to create excellent performances in concerts and create community with music.

Heather Chang, VAPA

She’s genuinely an extremely understanding individual who understands that we’re more than just students attending her courses, she’s willing to help us out when we need it and it’s something that has helped me succeed. She’s not the type of person that will make anyone feel bad for forgetting or not knowing something, she’s aware of how to explain the same thing in different ways to best accommodate multiple types of learners. I’m not sure how to word this exactly, but she’s kind of like my mom at school because of how real and authentic she is while still being extremely comforting and kind and understanding of her students having more than just school going on. She’s a professor I genuinely trust to go to and explain why I need help or an extension or why I’d be missing class that day because I know she won’t make it seem like it’s something I’m lacking or not doing enough to get around. And that is something that makes a professor the absolute best in my opinion.

Franzie Weldgen, VAPA

Always creates a supportive and interactive environment, makes everyone feel welcomed.

Marisol Galarza-Ruiz, World Languages

She is an amazing professor who makes learning so easy and fun! She has a way of making you feel like you're part of an amazing community!

PS: My office neighbor, Professor Marisol is amazing!

Bridget Dee, World Languages

The professor brings together and teaches English to foreign students. Her power of personality and professionalism helps her students feel more confident and believe in their abilities. Professor Dee has very high personal standards and teaches us to understand the diversity of our society and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with kindness and an open heart.

Elena Cambio, World Languages

My colleague's work stands out because of their strong leadership, reliability, and commitment to excellence.
