Simple ways to sign out of Windows 11
In classrooms with new computers, there has been some confusion on how to sign out. You should always sign out of any shared computer on campus to ensure your account is kept secure. Additionally, leaving yourself logged in on a shared computer can result in random lockouts that would come from the still logged in computer.
In Windows 11, there are several ways a user can sign out of their account. Here’s a brief list of methods to try:
-
Right-click on the start button and choose “shut down or sign out” and then select “Sign out”.
-
Click on the start button or press the “Windows” key. Click on your username. select “Sign out”.
-
Click on the Start button or press the “Windows” key. Click on Your Profile Picture located at the bottom of the Start menu. Select “Sign out”.
-
“Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete”: This brings up a security screen. and select the “Sign out” option from the screen.
-
Use the “Restart System” icon on your desktop. The icon is a red arrow pointing down and green arrow pointing up that make an oval. This will not only sign you out but will also restart the PC.
