2026 Keynote Commencement Speaker Announced
I am pleased to announce that Emad Kadhim, a 2013 MCC graduate and 2025 MCC Alumni Hall of Fame inductee, will be this year’s commencement speaker. Emad will deliver his address at the ceremony on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the Blue Cross Arena.
Emad, his wife Ayda, and their young family of four fled Baghdad during the 2006 civil war. After briefly living in Syria, the family moved to Rochester. He began learning English while earning his Electronic Engineering Technology degree at MCC. Five years after graduation, he started his own company, Roc Industrial, LLC, in the basement of his home. With help from his family, it quickly expanded to its current location in Greece. The company provides high-quality industrial automation parts and repair for companies across the country and internationally. The ten-person firm recently earned its ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognized standard for quality management systems.
Emad is deeply committed to giving back, uplifting others, and supporting his local community—especially by mentoring individuals from immigrant and underserved backgrounds who are pursuing careers in the trades and technology. His company actively participates in programs that foster the next generation of skilled trade professionals, including the Rochester Transportation and Manufacturing Association’s (RTMA) annual ROC With Your Hands Event.
In addition to Emad, his wife and three of their four children attended MCC. Emad enjoys reading business leadership books, traveling for international trade opportunities, and exploring cultural experiences that foster personal and professional growth.
