MCC Proud: Morganne Madonia

Morganne Madonia is new to Monroe Community College (MCC)! She has been the Program Coordinator for the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development for about four months.

Madonia received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia and her master’s degree from SUNY Brockport.

“I've always wanted to work with students - I have a passion for mentorship, coaching, and I absolutely love building meaningful relationships,” she said.

While in graduate school, Madonia worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Prevention & Outreach Department, where she supervised college students and helped them develop both departmental and campus-wide programs.

She added, “The relationships that I built with college students as a Graduate Assistant were so unique and fulfilling, and from that experience, I knew higher education in student-facing positions where I can help them grow and develop was for me. Now, I am in a position where I do that every day and absolutely love it!”

While she has only been at MCC for a short period of time, Madonia said, “…the relationships that I have formed with current students will be cherished my entire life. I'm very lucky to be in the position I am in to get to know students on a personal level and build genuine connections that foster trust, growth, and a deeper sense of community in the learning environment.”

When asked what advice she would give current students, Madonia said, “Enjoy your time here, get involved in clubs and organizations, and take advantage of all of the amazing resources on campus!”

For students considering enrolling in MCC, Madonia added, “DO IT! You will not regret it. There can be a stigma about community colleges, and you should erase any stigmas you may have. MCC is an amazing campus and community with so many opportunities and people who truly care about students’ growth and success.”

Looking ahead with enthusiasm, Madonia reflects on her experience so far, sharing that “…the impact that the students and my coworkers have had on me is profound and deeply meaningful — their energy, resilience, and dedication have left a lasting impression on me. I’ve felt genuinely welcomed, inspired, and motivated every single day.”
