Lunch & Learn with Admissions Focusing on Spring Open House

Planning for MCC’s Spring Open House is underway, and the Admissions Office invites faculty and staff to join one of our upcoming Lunch & Learn sessions to learn how you can get involved. The last session will be sent as an Outlook invite to Directors and Department Chairs in case you miss any of the first three.

During these sessions, we’ll cover:

  • What’s new for this year’s Spring Open House on Friday, February 27
  • How you can support the College Fair
  • Key recruitment and engagement tips for connecting with prospective students

Spring 2026 Open House Event Details

  • Date: Friday, February 27, 2026
  • Time: Monroe Community College, Brighton Campus from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Agenda Highlights (Faculty and Staff are invited to the College Fair and Lunch to represent your department):

Welcome Future MCC Students

Join us for an interactive morning designed to help high school students in grades 9 through 12 explore everything MCC has to offer.

9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Admissions Welcome & Information Session

  • Learn about MCC programs and student life
  • Get tips on admissions, applications, and next steps
  • Meet members of the Admissions team

10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Interactive Workshops

  • Explore special programs such as EOP and Honors
  • Learn about academic support and student success resources

10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Campus Scavenger Hunt with First-Year Experience (FYE)

  • Discover campus locations and student resources
  • Participate in a guided campus activity
  • Meet current students and staff

11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

College Fair & Lunch

  • Visit tables representing academic programs and departments
  • Ask questions and explore majors and career pathways
  • Complimentary lunch provided
  • Please complete the Open House Department Form to help us know your needs for the college fair.
    • There will be a Passport Activity to encourage students to explore and speak to many departments and get a prize for doing such.
    • Departments should:
      • Bring their own tablecloths (if applicable)
      • Include giveaways, visuals, and promotional materials (we will have the departmental brochures available)
      • Be fully set up and staffed by 10:50 AM

    Tips

    • Be authentic and approachable—students respond to genuine enthusiasm.
    • Share personal stories and successes to make your program memorable.
    • Create a welcoming environment.
    • Highlight unique opportunities like internships, research, and mentorship.
