Celebrating the People Who Keep MCC Shining: National Custodian Day

Every day, before the first class begins and long after the last student leaves, MCC's custodial team works diligently behind the scenes to ensure our campus remains clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

On October 2, National Custodian Day, Monroe Community College recognizes and celebrates the dedicated custodians whose hard work often goes unnoticed but is essential to the college's success. From maintaining classrooms, offices, laboratories, and common spaces to responding to special events and unexpected situations, our custodial staff plays a vital role in creating an environment where students, faculty, staff, and visitors can learn and work comfortably.

Custodians do much more than clean buildings. They help promote health and safety across campus, maintain the appearance of our facilities, and take pride in ensuring that MCC remains a place we can all be proud of. Their commitment, professionalism, and attention to detail make a positive impact on the MCC community every single day.

To honor our custodial staff, we invite the campus community to join us in sharing your appreciation.

How You Can Participate

Sign Our Appreciation Banner Stop by the North Dining in Building 3 on September 16 from 12-1pm and add your name and message of thanks to our National Custodian Day banner.
Sign a Thank You Card Beginning September 9, thank you cards will be circulated to offices across campus. We encourage faculty and staff to take a moment to write a note of appreciation to our custodial team. If you require thank you cards please email Courtney Sprague (csprague5@monroecc.edu). Once completed, please return the cards through interoffice mail to Courtney Sprague, 21-210 or Kaelee Hathaway, 3-173

A few words of gratitude can go a long way in recognizing the individuals who work tirelessly to keep MCC looking its best.
