MCC Student Joab Louis Wins $3000 Anna C. Price Poetry Award

The MCC Foundation, Creative Writing Committee, and Anna Price's family are delighted to announce that MCC student Joab Louis has won this year's Anna C. Price Award for Best Poem. Seventy-nine MCC students submitted to the award, which required a 500-word essay about what poetry means to them and submission of one original poem.  The award is named for a beloved MCC student, Anna Price; this year, on the 10th anniversary of Anna's death, donations were solicited by her family to supplement the award gifted by the MCC Foundation. Joab, who won $3000 for their poem, "Song from Far Away," will be honored at the English & Philosophy Department Awards Ceremony on May 8. We are so proud of the creative work our students are doing! Congratulations, Joab!
