Important Updates Regarding Human Resources Operations

Effective July 29, 2026, Dr. Calvin Gantt, Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Belonging, assumed the role of the Acting Executive Director for Organizational Behavior and Development due to the resignation of Fernan Cepero. During this temporary role, Dr. Gantt will provide strategic leadership and oversight in several key areas, including Human Resources, that are essential to the College's organizational effectiveness and long-term success.

Supporting Dr. Gantt during this transition will be Kristin Lowe, Esq., who will serve in a part-time advisory capacity. Mrs. Lowe brings extensive experience in human resources strategy, leadership development, and organizational planning. Many members of the MCC community may remember her from her previous service to the College in this role. She will report directly to and receive assignments from Dr. Gantt, and assist in advancing strategic priorities within Human Resources and Organizational Development.

At the same time, MCC will continue with ongoing recruitment efforts for Human Resources positions currently under review. These searches will help address staffing needs and strengthen team capacity. This interim leadership structure will remain in place while the College evaluates next steps regarding leadership in the department of Human Resources and Organizational Development.

Strategic Priorities

Dr. Gantt and Mrs. Lowe will focus on several high-level strategic initiatives, including:

Employee Relations

Providing oversight of employee relations matters and offering guidance on conflict resolution, mediation, and workplace engagement.

Compliance and Labor Relations

Working closely with Noah Lepsch, Assistant Director for Labor Relations, and Brenda Ronan, Institutional Compliance Officer, to ensure compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and institutional policies.

Talent Acquisition and Retention

Leading director-level and senior leadership recruitment efforts requiring review and partnership with the Special Committee on Administrative Affairs, including engagement with external search firms and the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) when appropriate.

HR Support and Contact Information

While Dr. Gantt and Mrs. Lowe will focus primarily on strategic leadership and executive-level initiatives, day-to-day Human Resources services will continue through MCC's dedicated HR team.

Faculty and staff with HR-related questions should continue to contact the appropriate office at 585-292-2048:

  • Suzanne Bureau – Benefits and FMLA
  • Jennifer Hitchcock and Cynthia Clark Inman – General Human Resources Matters
  • Misty Gulotti and Tameka Jackson – Recruitment and Hiring
  • Noah Lepsch – Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Questions and Grievances

This division of responsibilities ensures that members of the MCC community continue to receive timely support while also allowing the College to advance strategic initiatives and organizational improvements.

Please join us in welcoming Kristin Lowe back to MCC. We are confident in the collective strength of our Human Resources team and look forward to Kristin’s contributions as part of their ongoing efforts to support employees and help drive the College’s continued success.
