From Students to Science, Engineering and Math Faculty

Dr. Ben Schermerhorn – Chairperson & SYFS Co-Facilitator (Engineering Science and Physics)

  • He listened to student feedback and created new study resources that made a real difference.
  • Dr. Ben recognized the frustration of his Mechanics of Materials class at our poor performance on the last couple quizzes. He took this to heart, set aside time during the next class period to hear each person's complaints as well as suggestions on how he could help, then implemented these suggestions in extra documents made to help us study for the quizzes coming up. This extra support clearly took time to provide, and made an impact both in our performances on the quiz and also in letting us know we were seen and backed.

David Pultorak – Engineering Science & Physics

  • He truly cares about students and always helps us work through challenges.

Michael Rhoda – Mathematics (First Year Faculty)
