Welcome Back Message from the President

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

“January is the first month of a 365-page book. Write a good one.” – Brad Paisley, Country Artist.

Every semester brings new opportunities, and this one starts a new chapter in your story, full of promise and potential.

The new year is a great time to pause, reflect, and think about the story you want to create. Whether you are starting your first semester, continuing your academic journey, or returning to teach, support, and guide our students, this moment invites you to embrace a fresh start, set new goals, and explore the opportunities that lie ahead.

To our students, I encourage you to see this semester as a blank page. Each course you take, each challenge you face, and each connection you make becomes part of your journey. Approach these moments with curiosity, courage, and a commitment to growth. Give yourself permission to write boldly! And with commencement just a few months away, let the work you do this semester transform the next chapter of your story.

To our faculty and staff, thank you for the dedication, expertise, and care you bring to campus each day. Your work creates an environment where students flourish, opportunities come to life, and our community becomes stronger together. You are the reason MCC continues to stand out as the region’s crown jewel.

I also want to reflect on a personal milestone. In May 2026, I will have had the privilege of serving as your president for five (5) years! My, how time flies when you’re having fun working with others to reach shared goals. These years have been filled with collaboration, progress, and a shared commitment to our mission. I am grateful for the contributions each of you makes to the MCC community, and I look forward to celebrating this and many more milestones with you in the years to come.

These milestone moments motivate us to pursue our goals with enthusiasm and purpose, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to new opportunities. I am confident that the coming months will bring accomplishments, innovative ideas, and shared experiences that strengthen our college and the community we serve.

Tribunes - I wish each of you a productive, inspiring, and fulfilling spring semester. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh chapters, unlocked opportunities, and the stories we will create—together as one.

Best wishes,

Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna
