Zachary R. Stevenson appointed Director of Athletics

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Zachary R. Stevenson as our 6th Director of Athletics. His first day at Monroe Community College (MCC) will be Monday, March 2, 2026.

Zach brings nine years of professional experience in community college athletics that will continue MCC’s long tradition of athletic excellence. His vision for sustaining a culture of championship athletics and commitment to student-athlete success aligns with MCC’s core values and the strategic priorities of Vision2027 and Focus Forward 2027.

Zach has held coaching and leadership positions at Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) and the College of San Mateo (CSM). He has experience leading programs governed by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Coast Conference and California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).

Most recently, Zach served as the Athletic Director and Associate Dean of Athletics at CNCC in Rangely, CO. In this role he managed all aspects of the athletics department, including oversight of facilities, budgets, coaches and staff, and student-athlete eligibility. He worked closely with academic departments to build relationships and strengthen student-athlete success while maximizing resources to maintain a competitive multi-sport program through fundraising and prudent resource management.

A CNCC alumnus and former community college student-athlete himself, Zach is committed to promoting equity and student-athlete development by nurturing player skill development, personal growth, and academic excellence. At CNCC he facilitated an environment where student-athletes reach their potential through high expectations, competitive excellence, mentorship, and holistic support.

Please join me in welcoming Zach Stevenson to MCC.
