The Week Ahead

The Office of Student Life and Leadership Development presents the following events for next week: 

Campus Activity Board’s Winterfest  

  • Monday, December 8th, 11am to 1pm, Brighton Campus Atrium 

CAB is hosting a cultural holiday celebration with activities and food! Make sure to bring your CAB bucks you have been collecting to enter to win big end of year prizes.  

TECH Theatre Seminar 

  • Monday, December 8th, 3:30 to 4:30pm, Blackbox Theater (4-145) 

Join Theater Troupe for a tech theatre seminar and learn how to help out at shows behind the scenes.  

HGHRP: Weekly Fundraiser for MECA 

  • Monday, December 8th, 11am to 1pm, Brighton Campus Terrace 

HGHRP will be collecting donations for the Middle East Children’s Alliance foundation, a nonprofit organization working for the rights and the well-being of children in the Middle East. 

Student Government Association Senate Meeting 

  • Tuesday, December 9th, 2:15pm to 5pm, Brighton Campus Forum, Room 3-130 or join via the SGA Zoom (Meeting ID: 889 3746 5009, Passcode: 161781) 

The Student Government Association will be having a public Senate Meeting on Tuesday, December 9th. Feel free to join in person or via Zoom. 

Disability Awareness Club Holiday Celebration  

  • Wednesday, December 10th, 11am to 1pm, Downtown Campus High Falls A  

Join the Disabilities Awareness Club for a holiday party with food and fun activities.  

Biology Club Pizza Party  

  • Wednesday, December 10th, 12pm to 1pm, Brighton Campus 3-139A 

Join the Biology club for an end of year pizza party. 

Theatre Troupe Pass the Torch party 

  • Wednesday, December 10th, 4:30pm to 6:00pm, Brighton Campus 3-139A 

Join Theatre Troupe for the end of the semester party where they will be announcing their new officers for next semester. 

Red Cross Blood Drive 

  • Thursday December 11th, 12pm to 5pm, Brighton Campus Forum 3-130 

Give back this holiday season and donate blood & earn a $15 Amazon gift card. Sign up ahead of time all week in the Brighton Campus Terrace where PTK will be hosting a sign-up table for the blood drive. You can also sign up for an appointment at redcrossblood.org  

Other News:  

  • $ave Around Coupon Books: They’re back! MCC’s Travel Club is selling $ave Around coupon books to help support educational opportunities. Coupon books are on sale now for $25 through December 23rd.  
  • ASL Club is sponsoring a Vendor in the Campus Center Terrace Tuesday, December 9th.  
  • Vote for Your MCC Champion: Recognize a member of the MCC Community for all of the work they have done. Vote here.  
  • Phi Theta Kappa Food Drive: A food drive benefiting the DWIGHT Food Pantry will be hosted by PTK as part of the Regional Service Initiative. The collection period will begin on November 10 and continue through December 12. 
  • MCC Art Faculty Exhibition: There will be an Artist Lecture Exhibition in the Mercer Gallery that will be from November 14-December 13.
