MCC Receives Reaffirmation of Accreditation from Middle States

I am proud to share that Monroe Community College has received reaffirmation of accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This achievement reflects the strength of our institution, our unwavering commitment to student success, and the collective efforts of the entire MCC community.

Accreditation is an important affirmation of the quality, effectiveness, and integrity of our educational programs and operations. The Commission’s decision recognizes MCC’s commitment to continuous improvement and our ability to fulfill our mission while meeting the rigorous standards expected of institutions of higher education.

This accomplishment is the result of years of thoughtful preparation, self-reflection, assessment, and collaboration across the College. It demonstrates what can be achieved when faculty, staff, administrators, students, alumni, and trustees work together toward a common goal. The reaccreditation process provided an opportunity not only to showcase our strengths, but also to identify ways to further enhance the student experience and strengthen our institution for the future.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize that accreditation is not an endpoint. The insights gained throughout the process will continue to inform strategic decision-making, assessment efforts, and institutional planning as we advance priorities related to academic excellence; student success; enrollment management; facilities; technology; and diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

Most importantly, this achievement belongs to our entire College community. I want to thank everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and dedication throughout the reaccreditation process. I would also like to extend special appreciation to our Middle States Co-Chairs, Dr. Natasha Chen and Dr. William Dixon, and to Accreditation Liaison Officer, Dr. Terrance Keys, whose leadership and tireless efforts helped guide this work from start to finish. I wish to acknowledge Subia Khan for her dedicated work behind the scenes and Dr. Holly Wheeler for her invaluable report-editing skills, as well.

This reaffirmation of accreditation is a testament to the talent, commitment, and shared purpose that define MCC. Together, we have demonstrated the strength of our institution and our readiness to continue serving students and our community with excellence.

Thank you for making this achievement possible and for all that you do to move MCC forward—Together as One.
