Strategic Planning: Opportunities to Make Your Voice Heard

Monroe Community College’s next strategic planning process is underway, and broad participation from across the College community will be an important part of shaping MCC’s priorities for the future.

Over the past several months, the Strategic Planning Leadership Team (SPLT), in partnership with Collaborative Brain Trust (CBT), has begun laying the groundwork for the planning process. This work has included reviewing Vision2027, examining changes in the higher education landscape, considering emerging opportunities and challenges, and beginning conversations about what matters most for MCC and the communities we serve.

As the process moves forward, there will be several opportunities for employees and students to share their perspectives.

Soon, separate surveys will be distributed to MCC employees and students. The surveys will provide an opportunity to reflect on MCC’s strengths, challenges, priorities, and opportunities for the future. We encourage everyone to participate—the broader the response, the better the planning process will reflect the experiences and perspectives of our College community.

From September 29 through October 2, MCC will also host a series of in-person and virtual listening sessions with our strategic planning consultants. Multiple sessions will be offered to make participation as accessible as possible. These conversations will provide another opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to share what they believe MCC should preserve, strengthen, change, or pursue as we look toward the College’s next chapter.

Feedback gathered through the surveys, listening sessions, and other engagement opportunities will help inform the work of the Strategic Planning Leadership Team as the process continues throughout the academic year.

Strategic planning is most valuable when it reflects the people who know MCC best. We hope you will take advantage of one—or several—of the opportunities to participate and help shape what comes next.
