More Than A Web Redesign: A Strategic Tool for Recruitment and Enrollment

In the coming weeks, MCC will launch a new website designed to better connect with one of our most important audiences: prospective students. The web launch team, with staff from Marketing, Web, and Social Media, and Computing and Technology Services, has been hard at work getting the site ready.

While the website serves many groups, its primary purpose is to support recruitment and enrollment efforts. For many prospective students, a college website is their first interaction with an institution and often influences where they ultimately  enroll. The new site has been designed to create a strong first impression and help future students quickly find the information they need to choose MCC.

Supporting the Vision 2027 Strategic Plan

The new website directly supports Direction Three: Enrollment Reimagined of MCC’s Vision2027 Strategic Plan. Every aspect of the site has been developed with student recruitment and engagement in mind.

Designed for the College Search Journey

Because of the focus on enrollment, the new website may feel different from the old one. Rather than being organized around institutional structures, the site is designed to serve prospective students and their families. These changes were made intentionally to improve the user experience and better align the website with MCC's enrollment goals.

Easier Navigation and Discovery

One of the most noticeable improvements is an intuitive navigation experience that has been reorganized to help visitors quickly move between academic programs, admissions information, campus life resources, and student support services.

The website has also been developed with visibility and discoverability in mind. Enhanced search engine optimization (SEO) will help prospective students find MCC more easily through Google and other search engines. It is also designed to work with emerging AI-powered search experiences.  Many uses rely on AI results rather than visiting actual sites.

What You'll Notice

As you explore the new website, you’ll notice others changes:

  • Streamlined content and page layouts driven by the interest of prospects
  • Better organization of academic and student information
  • Clearer pathways to programs and admissions information
