Christine Accorso Appointed Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President, Technology Services
Pending MCC Board of Trustees’ approval on August 3, 2026, Christine Accorso will be appointed Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President, Technology Services, effective July 6, 2026. Christine has served intermittently in this role in an acting capacity since December 2024.
A dedicated member of the MCC community for more than two decades, Christine brings extensive institutional knowledge, a collaborative leadership style, and a deep commitment to supporting the College's mission through innovation and technology. Throughout her career at MCC, she has held several progressive leadership positions within the Administrative Services, Student Services, and Academic and Student Affairs divisions, including Senior Computer Programmer, Senior Business Analyst, and most recently Acting Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President.
As Acting CIO, Christine has led the College's enterprise technology strategy and operations, overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives. She directs a shared-services organization of approximately 40 professional and technical staff and manages an annual operating budget exceeding $4 million. Her leadership has contributed to strengthened cybersecurity practices, improved operational efficiencies, technology modernization efforts, and strategic alignment between technology investments and institutional priorities.
Christine is widely respected for her ability to bring together colleagues from across the institution to develop innovative solutions that enhance teaching, learning, student success, and operational effectiveness. During her tenure, she has led numerous cross-functional initiatives and partnered with academic and administrative departments, SUNY organizations, and external vendors to advance enterprise technology services and support the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff. She has also been instrumental in promoting digital accessibility, data-informed decision-making, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
Prior to assuming executive leadership responsibilities, Christine served as MCC's Senior Business Analyst for Academic and Student Affairs and Student Services, where she led technology planning, systems implementations, and strategic initiatives that aligned technology resources with academic and administrative priorities. Earlier in her MCC career, she supported enterprise application development and systems integration as a Senior Computer Programmer. Before joining MCC, she held technology leadership and software engineering positions with several organizations in the Rochester area.
Christine holds a Master of Science degree in Management from Keuka College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College. She is actively engaged with SUNY and higher education technology organizations, including the SUNY CIO Council, EDUCAUSE, ITEC, and SICAS.
