Sen. Schumer secures $259,000 for New Semiconductor Training Initiative at MCC

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer secured $259,000 in federal funding to support Monroe Community College’s new semiconductor training initiative. This funding will be used by MCC to address the pressing future need for technicians in the area of semiconductors and, more broadly, nanotechnology.

In addition, Senator Schumer led the charge, along with U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Joe Morelle, in securing $1.6 million for RochesterWorks Career Center relocation to MCC’s downtown campus.

These investments along with their previous efforts to secure $5 million for MCC’s optics program help promote workforce opportunities in our community.
