Introducing the "Next Generation Leadership Scholarship Program"
Please share with students:Exciting Things Are Happening at MCC!
A new semester has begun, and new and exciting opportunities are happening at MCC!
We are proud to introduce a new scholarship program designed to help students meet their educational and financial needs: We welcome the Next Generation Leadership Scholarship Program (i.e. NexGen). The scholarship provides students with an opportunity to receive $1,000 toward their educational expenses.
Our goal is to provide students with a holistic college experience that promotes leadership, self-discovery, and lifelong learning. In addition to supporting students academically and personally, this scholarship can provide valuable financial benefits by:
- Helping cover additional expenses, such as housing, meals, books, and laptops.
- Reducing student debt by helping students take out fewer loans and face smaller financial obligations after graduation.
- Reducing stress, allowing students to focus more fully on their classes and educational goals.
Scholarships can also demonstrate to future employers that students have potential, determination, and drive. Students who participate in scholarship programs may gain access to mentors, professional organizations, and special events—all of which can help build confidence and strengthen their sense of self-worth.
Students who lead clubs, organize service projects, captain teams, mentor their peers, or speak up in their communities often demonstrate something that colleges and employers value greatly:
We encourage students to attend one of our informational sessions to learn more about the NexGen Scholarship Program.
The first informational session will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 3:30 p.m.
The second informational session will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 12:00 p.m.
Both sessions will be held in the PRISM Multicultural Center, Building 1, Room 108. Students and faculty may also pick up a brochure at the PRISM Multicultural Center to learn more about the NexGen Scholarship Program.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our informational sessions!
