Public Safety Training Facility Earns CAAHEP Accreditation for EMS programs

Monroe Community College – Public Safety Training Facility Earns CAAHEP Accreditation, Demonstrating Quality in Health Professions Education

March 20, 2026 — MCC PSTF is proud to announce that its Emergency Medical Services education program has been awarded re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This prestigious accreditation underscores the PSTF’s commitment to providing high-quality education and training that meets the national quality assurance standards established by CAAHEP. This effort requires an exhaustive amount of work and includes an on-site visit by the accreditation team.  Our EMS and Paramedic programs met or exceeded all required standards!  We wouldn’t be here without the amazing collaboration of our students, our EMS agencies, and our team – Bill Comella (Lead instructor and Program Coordinator), Timothy Hutchings (Technical Assistant and Clinical Coordinator), Lauri Ruiz (Senior Technical Assistant), our Medical Director Dr. Maia Dorsett, Nicole Amendolare (EMS Manager), and our many lab instructors!

CAAHEP Accreditation Benefits Students, Employers, and the Public

CAAHEP accreditation offers significant advantages for students, graduates, and employers alike. For students, it ensures a high-quality educational experience that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies essential for success in their chosen health profession. Graduates of CAAHEP-accredited programs are highly sought after by employers, opening doors to enhanced job opportunities and career growth. Additionally, many professional certification bodies require graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program for eligibility to sit for certification exams—an essential step toward licensure and professional practice.

At the PSTF, we are dedicated to fostering excellence in allied health education and are preparing the next generation of skilled healthcare professionals. For more information about our accredited Emergency Medical Services program, please visit the MCC Paramedic Program webpage or contact Nicole Amendolare (namendolare@monroecc.edu).
