Become Safe Zone trained! Virtual sessions offered by NYSUT Social Justice
Happy Pride Month to those within the LGBTQ+ community, their friends and families, their advocates, co-consipators, allies, and supporters!
Many of us within the MCC community have one or more of these identities. Even if you personally do not, you can still be a part of creating a safe space at MCC. That's why becoming Safe Zone trained is important for us all.
"The Safe Zone training program aims to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills of individuals who wish to learn more about, and to advocate for, the LGBTQ+ community." This is the opening line on the Safe Zones NYSUT Social Justice webpage, where you will also find registration links for a number of upcoming online webinars, including one led by newly trained facilitators April Daniels, Ben Schermerhorn, and Eric Berg:
2 Day Workshop - Safe Zones: Creating a sense of belonging for all! (via zoom)

To register, visit the Safe Zones NYSUT Social Justice webpage.
With question, please reach out to the workshop faciliators, April Daniels (adaniels@monroecc.edu), Ben Shermerhorn (bschermerhorn@monroecc.edu), or Eric Berg (eberg4@monroecc.edu).
