Call for Nominations: Faculty Senate Officers
Call for Nominations - Faculty Senate Officers (initially posted late February, with a revision regarding the secretary postition)
As per Article V, Section 1. Officers of the Faculty Senate Bylaws, the Nominations, Elections, and Governance (NEG) Committee is now accepting nominations for the following Faculty Senate positions:
Vice President - Faculty, Term 2026-2028
Vice President - Professional Staff, Term 2026-2028
Secretary, half of a Term-- 2026-2027 (instead of 2026-2028)
Inquiries and interested candidates will need to send their name, title, and department by email to Laura Penman (lpenman@monroecc.edu) Chair, NEG. All candidate nominations must be accompanied by a candidate statement outlining the individual's qualifications, reasons for running, goals of service, and/or any other professional/biographical information that would help voters make their decisions. The deadline to submit this information is April 16, 2026.
Balloting will take place electronically, under the auspices of Institutional Research, in May. Results will be announced at the Thursday, May 14, 2026, Faculty Senate meeting.
Additional details:
Candidates for Vice President, Teaching Faculty, may be any member of the full time teaching faculty as defined by the FA Contract
Candidates for Vice President, Professional Staff, may be any member of the full time professional staff as defined by the FA contract
Candidates for Secretary, may be any member of the voting faculty (Faculty Senate constituency member)
