TCC Brown Bag: Civic Discourse Through the Practice of Dialogue and Deliberation (March 11, 2026)

Please join the Teaching and Creativity Center for a brown bag session titled "Civic Discourse Through the Practice of Dialogue and Deliberation" from Professor Joe Scanlon. This session will take place from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the TCC Room (12-201.) I am providing the description of the upcoming brown bag. TCC Brown Bag: Civic Discourse Through the Practice of Dialogue and Deliberation

This session will explore how dialogue and deliberation advance civic discourse in the classroom and community. We will define civic discourse, discuss how dialogue and deliberation support civic discourse, and collaboratively investigate the implications of these practices for student success and community well-being. A future session will explore how to prepare materials for and moderate dialogues and deliberations.
