Library Services Leadership Update

As we begin a new academic year, we would like to share an update regarding leadership in Library Services.

After 11 years of dedicated service to Monroe Community College, Katie Ghidiu, Director of Library Services, departed MCC in July to become Associate Provost of Academic Innovation and Learning Resources at Finger Lakes Community College.

Throughout her time at MCC, Katie provided thoughtful leadership and made significant contributions to the College, helping strengthen library services and support student success, faculty engagement, and academic excellence. Her commitment to innovation, collaboration, and service has left a lasting impact on our students, faculty, staff, and the Library Services team.

We are deeply grateful for Katie's many contributions and for the leadership she provided during her tenure at MCC. On behalf of the College, we thank her for her years of service and wish her continued success in her new role.

As we move forward with the search for a new Director of Library Services, Alice Wilson, Associate Director of Library Services, and Michelle Beechey, Assistant Director of Library Services, will serve as co-directors and provide leadership for the department during this transition. Alice and Michelle bring extensive experience, expertise, and dedication to Library Services, and we are grateful for their willingness to guide the department while the search is underway.
