Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 - October 15, 2025

2025 National Hispanic Heritage Month theme

Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future."

  • Collective Heritage highlights the shared history, traditions, and experiences that unite Hispanic and Latine American communities.
  • Honoring the Past acknowledges and celebrates the historical journeys and achievements of these communities.
  • Inspiring the Future focuses on the ongoing influence and pioneering efforts of individuals who continue to drive change and shape the future.

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of U.S. citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

As of July 2024, the Hispanic population in the U.S. reached an estimated 68 million, making it the nation’s largest racial or ethnic minority group at 20% of the total population – a number projected to continue growing. To honor and pay tribute to the invaluable contributions Hispanic Americans have given to the United States and the world, we proudly celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

This year, we will showcase a month-long display of pictures and stories featuring Latino individuals within our MCC community and across diverse fields of influence- music, theatre, arts, journalism, law, STEM and education – whose work has helped shape and strength America.

We invite students, faculty, and staff to explore the display at:

  • Brighton Campus - Outside of the PRISM Multicultural Center along the Brick Lounge (Bldg. 1)
  • Downtown Campus - 2nd floor of the Student Lounge.

Join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future!
