Please join us for today’s Student Wellness Wednesday as we recognize American Heart Health Month and focus on the importance of caring for your heart through education, awareness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Heart health is essential to overall well-being. With busy schedules, academic demands, and everyday stress, it’s easy to overlook the small habits that make a big difference. Today’s event highlights how nutrition, education, and simple daily choices can support a strong and healthy heart, now and in the future.
What’s Happening at This Event:
- Heart Health Education:
One of our Registered Nurses will share important information about heart health, common risk factors, prevention strategies, and practical steps students can take to support cardiovascular wellness.
- Nutrition & Heart Health Spotlight:
A Nutrition Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension will discuss the powerful role nutrition plays in maintaining a healthy heart. Learn about heart-smart food choices, balanced eating habits, and small dietary changes that can have a lasting impact.
- Therapy Dogs:
Take a stress-relieving break with our therapy dogs. Spending time with animals has been shown to help lower stress levels and promote relaxation, both of which are beneficial for heart health. Sometimes caring for your heart starts with simply slowing down and sharing a calm moment.
- Mindful Heart Writing Activity:
Take part in a reflective writing activity centered around what fills your heart. This activity serves as a therapeutic tool for self-awareness, emotional expression and fostering gratitude.
- Wellness Resources:
Explore helpful tools and resources that support heart health, stress management, and overall wellness throughout the semester.
- Giveaways & Educational Materials:
Pick up heart-healthy resources and items to help you stay informed and motivated.
- Lunch Provided!
Student Wellness Wednesdays are your opportunity to pause, recharge, and focus on your well-being. Today, we invite you to invest in your heart health and learn how simple, sustainable choices can support a lifetime of wellness.
