Virtual
06:30 pm - 07:30 pm

Are you a student who applied to one of MCC’s competitive health programs but was admitted into the Health Studies program to begin your academic journey? This session is designed specifically for you.

Join us for an informative and welcoming overview of what it means to start in Health Studies, how this pathway supports your long‑term health career goals, and the next steps toward entering a competitive program such as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, or other health‑related fields.

What You’ll Learn

Understanding Your Admissions Decision
We will break down MCC’s competitive health program admissions and selection process— including why some applicants are placed into Health Studies – Clinical Track (HS03) or Liberal Arts – General Studies (LA04). You’ll also learn how advisors support students in working toward their intended program goal.

The Pathway to Competitive Health Programs
You’ll gain a clear roadmap of the steps you’ll take over the next year to strengthen your application.

We’ll cover:

  • “Quality point” courses needed for competitive programs.
  • Application timelines (e.g., January 31 deadline for most Fall‑start health programs; September 30 for Spring Nursing).
  • How the Health Studies – Clinical Track aligns with requirements for programs such as Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Dental Hygiene, Clinical Lab Technician, and others.

Benefits of Starting in Health Studies at MCC
Discover why beginning in the Health Studies AS program is an excellent foundation for a future in healthcare.
