09:00 am - 12:30 pm

On Monday, September 29th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Atrium, the Facilities Department will host an event titled “E-Recycling and the Environmental Impact of AI” with the support of the Sustainability Club.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring in their broken or old electronics and place them in giant collection boxes located in the Atrium. These items will be responsibly recycled through a partnership with Sunnking, helping keep e-waste out of landfills.

The event will also feature two guest speakers from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), presenting about the challenges and importance of managing e-waste. In addition, attendees can join an educational discussion about artificial intelligence (AI) and its environmental impact.

Informational tables staffed by the Sustainability Club and the Custodial Operations Department will provide pamphlets and resources on sustainability efforts at MCC.

This event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about technology’s environmental footprint while taking action through e-recycling. We hope to see you there!
