Brighton Campus
11:45 am - 01:00 pm

Deliberative dialogues are opportunities for collaborative thinking about complex issues. Attendees drive the conversation in small groups facilitated by trained moderators. Dialogues are unlike panel discussions or debates. The objective of a dialogue is to be participatory, egalitarian, and non-adversarial. These events are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. The next dialogue is on November 5th, 2025, with registration opening on October 29th. See below for more information.

A Nation in Debt: How Can We Pay the Bills?

  • Wednesday, November 5, 2025
  • 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The national debt is bigger than ever—and while its effects may seem distant, they’re already starting to impact us and could weigh heavily on future generations. In this interactive forum, we’ll explore three different approaches to addressing the debt, each offering unique perspectives and trade-offs. Together, we’ll wrestle with tough questions, including raising taxes or cutting spending, using the power of law to mandate financial responsibility, and investing in economic growth and development.
