Proctor Foundation Scholarships for Space Camp for BIPOC Students and Faculty in Arts & Humanities

Are you a BIPOC arts/humanities student or faculty member who would like an opportunity for an all-expenses paid scholarship to Space Camp?  This opportunity is offered by The Proctor Foundation for Art and Science, founded by Dr. Sian Proctor.  Ten community college students and ten community college faculty will be chosen.

Dr. Sian Proctor is a graduate of Fairport High School who went on to earn several degrees: B.S. (Environmental Science), M.S. (Geology), and PhD (Curriculum and Instruction: Science Education).  Her accomplishments are extraordinary, including being the first African American woman to pilot a space craft on the first all-civilian human spaceflght mission in 2021.  She has been a geoscience professor at South Mountain Community College in Arizona and now corodinates Open Educational Resources for Maricopa Community College District.

Please note: The attached photo is of an Instagram post shows Dr. Proctor in a space suit and says that Space Camp Scholarships are open.  All additional information in the photo is included in the article above.
