A Talk on the Election of 1932

1932 was one of the most important elections in U.S. history. Herbert Hoover was the Republican President during the worst year of the Great Depression. Franklin Roosevelt is the Democrat who will run against him. This election will have a long-term impact on the way our government works for the people.

In the midst of this election is also the story of the Bonus Marchers. They were WWI veterans who were promised a bonus in 1945. But they want the bonus now. Tens of thousands of them will march on Washington, D.C.

Professor of History, Mark Sample, will tell this fascinating story.

Monday, November 7th, Noon to 12:50pm, Room 5-100
