Nursing Escape Room Review Session
From the creative mind of Associate Professor Judy Wilson, from which also
sprang the 2020 hit video of a head-to-toe nursing assesment of her dog Frank,
came an escape room activity for NUR 111 students to review for their final
exam. Judy invited them to anticpate the activity by sending a film noir
video to their email boxes.

Teams of students were given many challengers, including ciphers, crossword
puzzles, the game Operation, and a locked treasure chest. To solve each
challenge and move to the next, they had to recall and apply the nursing
concepts learned throughout the semester. When I dropped by, the teams
were thoroughly engaged with their tasks and eager to be the first to
finish. The game Operation was a substantial hurdle for several
groups- it is as difficult as you remember to remove the funny bone
without causing the buzzer and light to go off.
As the Spring 2022 semester draws to a close, it's good to see that learning
can be fun!
