Two for One During Black History Month
Part of celebrating Black History Month is to learn and reflect on those
people who have effected each and every-one of our lives one way or another
both directly and indirectly. Every February we celebrate and thank those
African-Americans who have gone before us for giving us hope and contributing
to the well-being of all. Black History Month is an integral part of our
nation's tradition in which we promote positive examples of poignant historical
events, exemplary leaders (both pass and present), who have impact social
change.
THE ONE "Museum of Historical People":
The PRISM Multicultural Center will have on display famous Black leaders
during the entire month of February. We are challenging you to come in and see
if you can guess who some of these people are (it's a way to challenge your
knowledge). We also have a series of posters we call "Did you Know", which are
eye opening facts that make you realize we all need to work together for a
better world.
We encourage everyone to stop in (students, faculty and classes)
THE TWO "Soul Food Luncheon":
On February 26, 2019, we will be hosting along with the
Black Student Union a "SOUL FOOD LUNCHEON"
from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the PRISM Multicultural
Center. For $3.00 you can sample some favorite traditional
foods. Check out our flyer (attached).
