Ibero-American Action League's Gladys Pedraza-Burgos '91 to Address Graduates
MCC celebrates the success of the Class of 2018 and looks forward to the
inspiring words of MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member Gladys Pedraza-Burgos '91.
Gladys will deliver the Message to the Graduates at MCC's Com
mencement, Saturday morning, June 2 at the Blue Cross Arena at the War
Memorial.
Gladys is a community advocate and the chief operations officer for Ibero-American Action League, Inc. Celebrating its
50th year serving Rochester, Ibero is a dual-language human services agency
that offers programs for children, youth, families, and individuals with
developmental disabilities. Gladys is responsible for the administration and
day-to-day operations of Ibero's departments, programs and resources.
The first person in her family to graduate from high school and earn a
college degree, Gladys earned an associate in applied science degree in liberal
arts (business concentration) from MCC in 1991, followed by a bachelor of
science degree in communication studies from The College at Brockport and a
master of science degree in counseling and human development from the
University of Rochester's Warner School of Education.
She and Ibero partner with MCC on student recruitment-related efforts,
including the annual Ibero Scholar's Award and Gala. During the past year,
Ibero awarded 86 college scholarships to local high school seniors.
MCC's Commencement ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Blue Cross Arena
at the War Memorial. The ceremony will be streamed live via www.monroecc.edu.
