Free Screening of An Inconvenient Sequel
Did you know Earth Day is celebrated in April and its importance has grown
exponentially? From skeptics to science, politics and everything in-between,
it's time to celebrate Mother Earth.
ALL MCC students, faculty and staff are invited to Monroe A in the Flynn
Campus Center (Building 3, Room 205) on the Brighton Campus for a free
screening of Al Gore's latest documentary An Inconvenient Sequel
on Tuesday, April 24 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Film synopsis: "A decade after An Inconvenient Truth brought the
climate crisis into the heart of popular culture comes the riveting and rousing
follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Former
Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world
training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate
policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes -- in moments both private and
public, funny and poignant -- as he pursues the inspirational idea that while
the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome
with human ingenuity and passion."
This educational event is sponsored by the Sustainability Steering Committee
of Monroe Community College and we hope this inspires you to do more for
yourself, your community, and your environment every day.
