ESL/MCC Scholars Internship - application deadline is this Friday 10/22
Application deadline for the MCC/ESL Scholars Internship is this
Friday, October 22, 2021.
Earn while you learn! Program participants will be employed at ESL during a
semester for 15 or 20 hours per week and 32+ hours per week throughout the
summer. Recipients of the scholarship will receive $1,000 per semester, up to a
$2,000* maximum.
Job coaching, mentoring, and professional development will also be provided.
Additionally, students may be eligible to earn academic credit through MCC.
After successful completion of the program, scholars may be considered for
full-time employment opportunities at ESL.
- Students are hired for a paid, part-time teller position during the
semester (15 or 20 hours) and summer (32+ hours). They are assigned an ESL
mentor and supported through performance management, coaching, and professional
development sessions.
- Major in business administration and/or accounting is preferred.
Other majors within MCC's School of Business & Entrepreneurial Studies will
also be considered.
- Students are also provided a resource navigator through MCC.
- With good performance, students may be assigned new roles and
challenges in the branches or at the ESL Corporate Office to experience other
areas of the business.
- Tuition reimbursement options may be available to students who
continue their studies at a local four-year institution while working part-time
at ESL.
Eligibility Guidelines
- Must be a full-time enrolled student (12+ credit hours) at MCC in
Spring 2022
- Must have an intended graduation date of Spring 2023
- GPA of 2.5 and above
- Ability to work in the US on a permanent basis
Preference will be given to students from underrepresented backgrounds in
the financial services industry.
* $1,000 awarded per semester. Employees, board members, and immediate
family members (living in the same household as an employee) of ESL, ESL
