Putting the spotlight on Hispanic Employees at MCC Series
In the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month, our focus is in our community.
With the challenges we all faced and the uncertainty of our future during the
last 18 months. There is a sense of renewal, a sense of hope, and a sense of
togetherness. We challenged our Latino Empowerment Network members to tell us
their story. Hispanic Heritage Month is about highlighting the rich culture and
contributions of Hispanic ancestry. For the next four weeks, we will be
featuring one or two members of our Latino MCC family in hopes that it inspires
employees and students.
The purpose of LEN (Latino Empowerment Network) is to establish, maintain,
and promote a network for the empowerment, development, and advancement of
Latinos at Monroe Community College. It is the duty and responsibility of
LEN to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding, promote the positive
image of a diverse Latino community so faculty/staff and students further
appreciate and respect the richness of Monroe Community College. We will
serve the community through cultural activities, educational initiatives, and
partnerships.
