Climate Change and Our Region's Climate Movement
Have you ever wondered how our region's response to climate change
can/should align with our unique local conditions?
If so, join us on April 27 at noon via Zoom for a conversation
with Abigail McHugh-Grifa, Executive Director of the Climate Solutions
Accelerator of the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. Based on the work of the
Genesee-FLX Climate Collective, Abby will identify specific climate solutions
that we should prioritize in our region in order to quickly and
effectively reduce emissions while maximizing the co-benefits of climate action
to improve quality of life for local residents. You will also learn about how
to get involved in our region's climate movement and find a form of climate
action that fits your skills and interests.

Abigail McHugh-Grifa was a founding member of the Climate Solutions
Accelerator of the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region and New York State’s first
Mothers Out Front chapter. Her early climate advocacy work also included
co-coordinating Rochester’s Citizens’ Climate Lobby chapter. She
currently serves as the Accelerator’s Executive Director and is a member
of New York State’s Climate Justice Working Group. Though she holds a
Ph.D. in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music, she gave up her
career in music to dedicate herself to climate advocacy work out of concern for
her two young sons whose futures depend on our collective efforts to maintain
stable global temperatures.
