Helping local Afghan refugees
Keeping Our Promise is a Rochester-based program that helps
endangered wartime allies to resettle in the United States with their families.
This fall and winter, Rochester is welcoming more than 200 Afghan refugees to
our city. These are people who were allies and aides to US forces in
Afghanistan, and whose lives would now be in danger if they had remained there.
Thanks to our MCC college community, the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights
Project has been able to collect over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies
to help these families as they begin their new lives in Rochester.
Good work, HGHRP!
Good work, MCC!
