Rochester AmeriCorps is currently accepting applications for 34 positions
for the 2019-2020 term of service, which begins September 4, 2019 and ends
August 9, 2020. Rochester AmeriCorps is an education-focused program with a
mission to improve academic engagement, college and career readiness, and
positive school climate for students in Rochester City Schools.
Essential member activities may include: contributing to extra-curricular and
enrichment activities, providing academic and behavioral supports, supporting
attendance initiatives, tutoring one-on-one or small groups, providing college
and career preparation services, coordinating school and community events, and
conducting outreach to parents and members of the Rochester community. Members
are able to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and
administrators and contribute to a positive school climate.
Benefits
of service include:
- bi-weekly living allowance of $571 (pre-tax)
- education award of $6,095
- National Service Forbearance on qualified student loans
- no cost health insurance
- child care subsidy for dependents 12 and under

opportunities.

Qualified candidates should be available to serve full-time
(40+ hours a week), have an interest in community service and/or volunteering,
a strong work ethic, a desire to serve students in the Rochester City School
District, and a willingness to learn and grow personally and professionally.
We will also be hosting in-person information sessions at the Downtown
Campus of Monroe Community College on Wednesdays from 2 - 4pm starting on June
5th through August 14th (we will not be meeting on July 2nd) if you'd like to
learn more and fill out an application in person. Join us at the beautiful
Downtown Campus of Monroe Community College at 321 State Street, Floor 2, Room
200C. You can take the bus or park in lot AA Visitor parking spaces.
