Nursing Students Exceed National and State NCLEX Results
Please join me in congratulating the students, faculty, and staff of the
Nursing Department for their impressive NCLEX professional exam results during
the first two quarters of 2022. Of the 65 MCC RN Nursing Program
graduates who have taken the NCLEX so far this year, 90.77% passed and are
fully qualified Registered Nurses. Statewide, 76.76% of those attempting
the NCLEX passed, including graduates of both public and private
associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree programs.
Nationally, 82.32% passed.
The pandemic and "great resignation" have increased demand for
qualified nurses. Local hospitals would be happy to hire even more MCC RN
graduates. In addition to the talented nurisng faculty and staff, I would
like to recognize the many people at MCC who support students who are in the
pathway towards Nursing: Admissions counselors, Advisors, Schools
Specialists, faculty who teach "points", prereq, and gen ed
courses. It takes a team.
