MCC Surgical Technology 2020 Graduates Hold Virtual Jacket Ceremony and Celebrate 100% Board Pass Rate
On July 15th, the 2020 MCC surgical technology graduates sat for the
National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants certification
exam. Dean Kaminsky and I are pleased and proud to announce a stellar 100% pass
rate for this year's class. Many thanks go to faculty members Mary Seely and
Mary Combs for their support of their student's success under the challenging
and changing conditions this past semester. We also want to thank Clinical
Supervisors, Kelly Habarek, Kristina Hamlin, and Tasha Vila, for their support
of the students at clinical sites, and lab support person Melissa Daniels-
Dolan.
To celebrate this achievement, the traditional Jacket Ceremony was held
virtually on Saturday, July 18th. At the ceremony, MCC Interim President
Douglas, Provost Wade, Dean Kaminsky and Holly Falcon, the President of the
Association of Surgical Technologists, brought greetings to the students and
relatives who attended and congratulated the students on attaining this
milestone. Professors Seely and Combs expressed appreciation that MCC has so
many capable and thoughtful people working toward the same goals-- success for
the students in a safe manner!
Students receiving individual recognition during the ceremony included:
Svitlana Trukhlinska. Phi Theta Kappa and Association of Surgical
Technologists National Honor Society member.
Kalyn Korber, recipient of the first Johnson Family Scholarship
Alexis Gordon, recipient of the Seely Family Award
Officers of the Club for Surgical Technologists and LEAD certificate
