Spring 2023 Nursing Program Admission Deadline - September 30th
Students wishing to apply for the Spring 2023 Nursing program (NU01 - 4
semester traditional OR NU02 - 3 semester accelerated for LPN applicants) must
submit a major change request by Friday, September 30th.
- Students MUST meet the minimum admission
requirements (i.e. GPA requirement and prerequisites, such as algebra,
chemistry, and biology) at the time of application. Review the
admission requirements and selection process on the Nursing admission
information sheet, found here: Health Related
Admission Information. In addition, please see the “Admission
and Application Process” link, which includes a list of
FAQ’s.
- Students who are still in progress with quality point classes (i.e.
BIO 145 or 202) can apply. However, we only look at courses completed by
the application deadline date to tally quality points.
- If you are ready to apply:
- Admission decisions for NU01 will be sent by October 31st;
decisions for NU02 will be made in early January.
- Selection is based on the number of seats available for the
program and quality points; students with the highest number of quality points
are admitted. 70 students are admitted each semester.
- Applications DO NOT roll over, so you must reapply each
semester.
- In the event that you are waitlisted for a program and are not
selected for the upcoming term, you must reapply.
- How to apply:
- CURRENTLY ENROLLED, MATRICULTED STUDENTS can apply though
the following process:
- In your myMCC account, click on the Student Home or Academic Plan
tile, then Change Major link.
- Select Spring 2023, then NU01 or NU02. (NU02 is only for
applicants who are LPN’s and have met the NU02 admission requirements OR
for those who are seeking readmission into NUR 112.)
- You will receive a confirmation email that your request has been
submitted. The major change request form serves as your
application.
- You may only apply to one competitive health related major.
- Can’t remember if you applied or want to confirm that you
did? There’s a link in your Student Records that says “Major
Change Request Status” and it’ll give you a history of what major
changes you’ve submitted and the status.
- Students not currently attending this fall must reapply through
the Admissions Office.
- COVID Vaccine requirement:
- COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster will be required of all students
entering Nursing (NU01) per the NYS COVID Vaccine Mandate for any student who
participates in a clinical rotation. No exemptions are permitted for
visiting students and faculty per our clinical partners.
