A Conversation with Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park
Join Newbery Award-winning children's author Linda Sue Park and former
Sudanese Lost Boy and founder of Water for South Sudan, Inc. Salva Dut for a
captivating conversation about the plight of children in South Sudan, the power
of clean water, and the potential of children's literature to create advocates
for human rights. At this now annual event, Park and MCC Alumni Hall of Fame
inductee Dut will discuss Park's bestselling novel A Long Walk to
Water, which chronicles Dut's experiences when fleeing the violence of
Sudan in the 1990's and has sold over 1 million copies. Local middle school
students will be in attendance and thousands worldwide will participate via a
live stream. MCC's Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project welcomes your
